Come run the fastest road race in Kansas, in a point-to-point slightly downhill battle on historic Poyntz Avenue in the heart of Manhattan. The race is designed for runners of all ages and abilities to experience a fun, fast, and exhilirating race. Come see how fast YOU can run a mile!

This very fun event benefits the Manhattan High Cross Country team. All proceeds from this race allow team members to travel to varioius events during the Fall season.

The Course

Starts in front of Capital Federal Bank, just west of 14th Street and Poyntz Avenue, and finishes in front of AJ's Pizza on Poyntz Avenue. Park in nearby City Park, on the street, or in the Capital Federal parking lot (minimal spaces available at the bank). Some runners choose to park near the finish line, and do their pre-race warmup to the starting line.

This course is certified by USA Track and Field. Intersections are protected by course marshalls and Riley County Police Department. Gun to chip timing by the Manhattan Cross Country Club and Body First Wellness. Refreshments and pizza party after all races are complete.

Race Schedule (Tentative)

7:30 p.m. -- Start of the Citizen's Race (male and female combined)

7:45 p.m. -- Start of the Elite Women's Race (by invitation; 7:00 mile or faster)

8:00 p.m. -- Start of the Elite Men's Race (by invitation; 5:00 mile or faster)
